Compass and Navigation group exercise.
My group consisted of Max, Mattais, Martin, Timon and me
As our group came together I asked each group member about their previous experience in orienteering. We then decided as a group that because we only had the one map between the five of us that each person would take a turn in leading the way for a control. This worked until we reached the first point and we had to walk around the control circle searching for a tiny piece of paper. Group members began to doubt each others ability and tried to just ‘have a look at the map.’
At the second checkpoint our group functioning was at its lowest. With very little time to get to know each other prior we entered the storming phase of group development. The control was placed out by the Norwegians in the wrong location (outside of the control circle). My group joined two other groups in searching for a tiny piece of paper that was in the wrong location (it took forever). When t
