My name is Austin Tredrea and I am a 19 year old outdoors enthusiast from my hometown of Adelaide in Australia. I am in my third year of studying a Bachelor Degree in Human Movement at UniSA and was fortunate enough to be granted an opportunity to travel to the beautiful city of Kristiansand here in Norway.
This meant leaving my family and many friends behind to pursue my dream of completing a student exchange in a foreign country. I will be spending the next 5-6 months of my life here with two other friends of mine from Australia in the same house, for our first real trip away from our homes.
Whilst studying at the University of Agder, I will be learning about the Norwegian culture, language and environment, but also experiencing it first-hand by going on trips with the other outdoor education students into the wilderness. This blog will be like an academic journal to document my outdoor field trips, show the lessons I have learned, highlight some diversities between here and my own country and also express my reactions to the challenges I have overcome during my stay here in the nature-rich country of Norway.
