4-7.day, Monday – Thursday

Cross-country time,

different da trips and sleeping in the cabin and snowhole.

We had beautiful days for making big tours. The weather was sunny and cold. So we went out to explore the area around Hovden. Went on a few smaler mountains in the east with using slopes and later offpiste. To go down we only went offpist. One leg in the front and one a bit more back. So you have more stability and its easyer to you to hold your balance. And it’s much easyer to steer and change the direction in deep snow. It looks a bit like telemark. Ore if you are good it is telemark.

It’s an amazing feeling, you walk up the hill and it takes hours, and in the moment you reach the top everything changes. You have this beautiful view over the dale and you feel the wind and the sun on your skin. And if you are on the highes mountain in the area and you stand on the edge, ready to drop down on a very steep slope with your skiis ore your snowboard, the world stands still. No preparet slopes, no civilisation, no everyday stress, just you and hundret meters of fresh-deep powder.

But I had only wear cross country skiis that day, and so we decided to go down on a less steep side of the mountain 🙂

A bit sad that you went up all the day and the time downhill is only a few minutes.

On the way uphill we made a break. We searched for some windprotected place and stay there for a while to make lunch. We build some little bench with our shovels and put our shoes on our skiis to protect them from the cold ground.

Everyday in the afternoon we went back to our cabin and enjoy good conversations and half naked roof jumps into the deep snow ore card games.

The last night I slept in a snowhole. We build it on the day with three people and I slept in it. It was big enough for 2 People and luggage. It was perfect to test my new sleepingbag and after I ignite the candle it was cozy and warm. I cooked some hot water in the cabin and put it into a steel bottle in my sleeping bag. So I had my personly hottie. Good night and sleep well!
