Curriculum Vitae
My CV in short.
Bibliography
- I was born in Hochneukirch/Germany, a village near Mönchengladbach, Düsseldorf and Köln, i.e. in the area of the Lower Rhine.
- I studied Mathematics and Pedagogics at the University of Münster, and Technical handwork at postgraduate college. Then my destiny led me to Norway, where I studied German in Oslo, :-), and later on Computer Science in Western Norway.
- After living 4 years in Skjervøy, a beautiful island in the very north of Norway, and 15 years in Sauda in the northernmost head of the Boknafjord in west, I'm since 1999 living in Kristiansand, at the southern coast of the country.
- In Sauda, I spent a lot of time with the high school, where I taught mostly Maths and Computing, and took care of the ~115 computers and the network.
- I really loved my work-place. It was quite interesting and inspiring working with such a varity of different expertise and education-offers: the academic secondary school, the secondary school for sports, vocational school for electricians/automation-electricians, mechanics, motor mechanics, welders, forwarding agents, professional drivers and enrolled nurses. A lot of equipment and programs to handle. It was never boring...
- Then time arrived for a change, and I accepted new challenges in industry. I worked at Elkem, one of the world's leading suppliers of metals and materials: ferroalloys, silicon metal, aluminium, carbon and microsilica.
- Certainly, I did not work near the warm liquid metals. I was employed in the concern's Global IT-Services, stationed first in Sauda (manganese) and so in Kristiansand (silicon and carbon & research center). I have been working with projects, most of them aiming to standardize administrative working processes (Accounting, Sales, Logistics and Personnel Management). This means designing co-operative and new working routines corresponding to a renewable organization structure and at least standardizing their supporting IT-solutions. It was interesting to be able to gain 3,5 years' experience in project management at Elkem.
- Autumn 2001, I returned to education and started as assistant professor at Agder University College (from 01.09.2007 : University of Agder) in Kristiansand.
