Week 4 of delivery from the Norwegian students. This week took the same format as the others as we were split into teams and given a circuit of tasks to complete in the quickest time possible.
This week a few students did not come so the organising team did well to rearrange the groups at short notice.
Task 1 involved carrying rocks up and down a hill as individuals and then carrying a log as a team up the hill finishing by having to get the log and all team members over a waist height rope between 2 trees.
Task 2 involved filling a container with water from the lake using our bodies. Here we we used both our hands and mouths to carry water! We had 2 attempts and the 2nd was much quicker as we had practiced our method in the previous attempt.
Task 3 was a carrying task. We had to carry our team members up a hill 20 times. It was decided that as there were 4 boys and 3 girls the girls would be carried by 3 boys while the 4th boy rested.
Task 4 involved setting up a tipee and taking it down again and packing it away. Here some of the Norwegian students had set this tent up in the past so they took mainly took the lead in this task.
After lunch we had a tug of war competition in which we placed 3rd.
This selection of tasks tested our teamwork, strength and fitness as well as our thinking and problem solving skills.
To finish the day we played a game similar to hide and seek but you have to make your way further towards the catcher while they count down from 10. You win by touching the catcher without being seen. This was a fun game were we had to use natural objects and dips in he landscape to find hiding places.
