Organised by Norwegian students

It was really spontaneous action. Two Norwegians guys announced us that they are going to go to camping in Jegenrsberk and offered us that we can join. They gave us basic information – what we need and what time we will go. A lot of people from our group decided to go – me too, because I thought that it will be good opportunity get to know each other. I had worried about camping, because it was my first overnight trip in winter. I have never slept outside in winter, but temperature was about 5 degree and I had a new sleeping bag and mat, which I wanted to try! So let’s go!

We all met in front of Spicheren at 3 o’clock. We went about half hour through Jegesberk. When we came it was quite cold so we decided to make our shelter for night.We were divided into 2 groups, the girl’s and boy’s shelter. Everybody has tarf and rope, which we bought day before. We started make new shelter between 2 trees. One Norweigan’s boy help us with organisation and learned us a new type of knot.  Main organizer was Cathrin, but even through we had some small problem with making our shelter. Part of shelter was on the rock, it was impossible to jabbed pegs. While the boys finished their shleter in 20 minutes and started prepare fire we still made our sleeping place. It was getting dark and we have to use hadtorchs. In the end we were successful and our shelter from tarfs was ready for sleep.

After that we could join to fire and prepared food. I was very hungry and I had food prepared at home, but next time I definitely have to prepare food in fire and will try special food, which I have never eaten. A lot of interesting type from my new friends took my attention. For exaple bananna with chocolate, toasty and sweet potatoes in aluminuim foil in fire.

We spent time together around fire. We were talking about everything and played scared stories. It was really nice evening, but I was tired that I went to sleep early.

My first night in winter wasn’t so good, because I was cold and still woke up. In the morning we got special surprise from nature – SNOW! Not so much, but a lot for morning snowball! In this moment I forgot for my bad night and a want to say that it was very nice experience, which I have never forgotten!
