Blog 6 – Monday, March 9

This Monday we organised the whole day. In the preparation we wanted everything to come together. The focus would be that everyone had a good view of all the team games, to remind them of what we had done all the Mondays and maybe to take the ideas for a next experience. Besides that, we tried to focus on reflection, to try to put an extra layer in the activities. The focus I wanted to put in would be to reflect on teamwork, that it would be better after a few rounds. I have quite a lot experience in this, so I wanted the teach the rest the tricks how to reflect in the group in a short time, but this turned out to be pretty hard. Not everyone was confident enough to try this so we let that over to two groups.

After a few hours we written down a complete plan of the day, so that we had an idea how it would be and what everyone had to do. I wrote everything down, what I usually don’t do. I am usually the one of the ideas and great plans, without too much concrete plans. This time I wanted to try to push myself in another corner and focus on what we concrete were going to do. I even sometimes said, ‘guys, we have to focus on the plan’, or ‘what are we going to do with this ideas’. I liked the new role I was in. Because I could hold the focus on my role in the group, I created a relaxed vibe by myself and with that also on the rest. This made me realise that I have got good leading skills, and if I work on them, I can be way better.

At the day we were on time and started with the activities. I saw that a few of the group were a bit nervous. This was all okay, but it made the start a bit crowdie. When everything was prepared, were I focused on (instead of being infront of the group), I came to Ed. We discussed how to make teams, but it didn’t work that way. I did it on a way what no one expected, and what the group made laughing. It reminded me again about the leading skills I had, but that I focussed on different styles. This day I wanted to be more on the background and prepare everything and do time management, because this are points, I can make improvement in.

This worked out the whole day. The rotation of all the groups were checked by the time, and I checked all the groups how far they were. The morning worked perfect, all the groups had fun and if a group was not done yet, the rest of the groups waited for them by filling up the time. After the break the energy was not so big anymore, but everyone did all the activities. It was nice to see that everyone also did it with enthusiasm.

In the end I thanked everything for all the lessons we did together and what we learned from each other. Everyone liked the day a lot because of all the nice games and thanked us for organising such a funny last day.
