Programm:

Group Ørhane: Wednesday 15.04

Depart: 1630 hrs. From main entrance UiA.  Approx 30km to parking area.

Approach march: 1 km. Boots are advisable.

Return: Thursday 16.04 10.00 UiA.

Equipment: Sleeping bag, sleeping mat, clothes for the weather. Knife, Headtorch.  Svein will take tarpaulin and ropes.

Food: Evening meal and breakfast.  No bonfire due to forest fire risk.

Execution

The Aim of the trip was to observe Birds in the morning. For that we build a shelter so the birds could get used to us. We build the shelter in a wide and open area.

The birds were supposed to come around 21.30 and later and early in the morning from 5.30.

Unfortunately we weren´t really successful and didn´t see many birds. The only bird I saw was sitting in a tree quite far away and didn´t move a lot.

But I enjoyed the trip anyway it was fun to build the shelter and Svein told us some interesting thinks we can find in nature. He showed us how to find out the age of young trees (count the annual rings or count the layers of branches) or the “marzipan tree” (the tast of early buds of a rowan tree taste like marzipan).
