Preparation<\/em><\/p>\n

The 3rd<\/sup> self organized trip was a quite spontaneous one. We just wanted to hike for a couple of days. We decided to go to the area around Kongsberg because the weather forecast wasn\u00b4t too bad for the region and we found with the Styggmann a nice peak to hike.<\/p>\n

Packing was not really special, it was just important to have enough dry bags so that our gear stays dry.<\/p>\n

We pre-cooked our diner in Kristiansand, that\u2019s why we just left at 13.00. We followed the road to Oslo and headed to the direction of Kongsberg.<\/p>\n

Day 1<\/strong><\/p>\n

The beginning was hard, after a steep road to the partking spot the hiking trail was really wet. It was not easy to hike the trail with a heavy backpack. After a while we lost the trail. Luckily we had a map and a compass so we oriented us with the directions of the compass. After a while we recognized some features like the power lines and a lake so we know where we are.<\/p>\n

2. Day<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

The day started with a lot of rain, the ground was socked. We decided to stay in the tent. At 16.00 the rain stopped and we were ready to start the hike to the Styggmann. We followed the marked trails to the peak. We reached the peak at 20.00 luckily it was really bright till late in the night. After an exhausting hike we reached our tent at 23.30.<\/p>\n

3. Day<\/strong><\/p>\n

We recovered from the exhausting hike on the day before, packed our tent and hiked back to the parking spot.<\/p>\n

Learning outcome<\/strong><\/p>\n

I improved my navigation skills since we lost the marked trail quite early. It was nice to see how important a compass and a map is if you once lose your way. Beside that I realized that at this times of the year it is possible to hike until late in the night because it is quite until 23.00.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
