The five and a half months are over now. Yesterday we had our last exam and today is the deadline for our homepage. Next monday my ferry departs to Denmark where I start my cycling trip back home.
Trolltunga hike (31.05 – 01.06)
Sea kajaking and sailing (26.05 – 29.05)
For the next two weeks the group was split in half again and while the other group had some time for their own tours, we had a daytour on the Otra for practising kajak skills, a 2-day tour on the sea with a overnightstay on a island and one day with some sailing practice.
While there was great weather on the first two days, heavy rain started in the night, while we were on the island. Was interesting to kajak in the sea while there were 2 m high waves to handle and rescue a capsizeed groupmember.
Also the sailing was great fun when there was a wind going. We had three katamerans to play around with, which were going really fast. One sailing team managed to capsize when a heavy breeze came in.
Educational practices in Helleviga (05.05 – 08.05)
From Tuesday till Friday we were staying in a close nature park, where every day a different School class (3 alltogether) was coming and was staying over the night. The kids were around 18 years old and were in their last year of school. We prepared some group games and other stations, which were related to our study themes. For example abseiling, canoeing, orienteering, lighting a fire, …
The first day started with heavy rain and path between our shelters and the place the kids stayed turned into a swamp. Luckily there was never any rain while we had our activities and the last day was welcoming us with sunshine. It was the first year that there was this cooperation with that school and the kids were all that delighted about the time they had with the activities that it will take place the next year again.
Self-organized hiking trip (20.04 – 22.04.)
Birdwatch trip (16.04.15)
To see some mating between a specific birdrace, we went with a Biologist to an area, where we stayed overnight in a quite cosy shelter. The teacher was really into the subject and we learned a lot in the couple of hours we had before it was dark. Also we improved our knife throwing skills (before I hit a rock…). In the morning sadly no birds were there to look at.
With Scouts in Rondane (10.04 – 13.04)
While I was in Norway in the summertime, doing the pilgrimstrail, I made a friend, who invited me to join him and his scoutgroup on a trip to Rondane. After a long trainride on Friday I arrived in Lillehammer after 7 hours. After having lunch and packing the equipment we headed North and arrived at 18 o’clock at the parking spot. The group consisted of 9 kids, 5 adults and my humble self.
After skiing 5 km with four pilk, mostly uphill, we arrived 2 hours later at a hummock, which functioned as a windshelter and there was a stream close by. After setting up 5 tents and having dinner, the day was done. The next two days consisted of building snow holes and a igloo, a skitour by myself to the next DNT hut and kidding around with skis on. On Sunday evening we arrived back in Lillehammer, where I spent one night before ennoying another 8 hours in the train.
Climbing at Odderoya (7.04 – 10.04)
Easterbreak (28.03.15 – 04.4.15)
I visited a friend in the hardangerfjord, who is building and renting fjord huts there. While IĀ was working there most of the time, I also had a daytrip to Bergen, Tried to hike on a glacier without snow shoes š and spent my time with reading and fishing.
