Tarp

Mostly I use my tarp when I go on a hike. I’ve got a 3×3 DD tarp. It’s just 720g and doesn’t take much space in my backpack. In the summer I use it above my hammock. In winter or trips when more people have to sleep under my tarp I sleep on the ground.

Hammock shelter

I hang my hammock between to threes and attach the tarp above it. It provides a lot of space on the ground my gear stays dry and less suffer from critters.

Lean to

The lean to is the way I use my tarp the most when I’m sleeping on the ground. It’s nice to make a fire for the entrance with a reflection shield behind it. The heat of the fire will reflect to the shelter and makes it nice and warm. This method is the easiest way to put up a tarp. It’s possible to sleep with three people and backpacks under it. If there are no trees i use my walking sticks.

Tent

I learned this method from one of my friends. When It will be a cold night and no good reflection of a fire I recommend this shelter. It keeps the body heath in and provides enough space for two people with backpacks. In the first part of this tarp movie you can see how to make this shelter.
