This day marked the half way point for the international students to lead the self-organised trips into Jegersberg. Across the duration of the day, two teams were pitted against each other, taking part in challenges in Jegersberg whilst on route to the highest peak. The first activity was led by Mike. It was a rather simple but fun challenge. It was a quiz, that was filled with funny yet silly questions about peoples’ home nations and other random stuff. Although this was no a physical game of any sorts, it was still very fun to do and it was also something different that none of the other groups had thought of so fair play to them. We then had to make our way to the next checkpoint, which meant that we had to split into groups of 3 and we were given a map and compass and told which point we had to get to. The next check point turned out to be next to a lake, once we got there, the next activity compromised of players getting in a circle with their heads in the middle and then they had to grab onto players around them and 2 members of the group had to come round and try to separate the players. Max and Jonas who are both big and strong proved to be inseparable. Although this was a good fun game which required lots of energy which keeps you warm, lying on the floor in the cold snow is not fun, especially when there are rocks everywhere so this is something I would consider next time they do an activity like this. After we finished this, once again we grabbed the map and compass and headed to our next destination. Here we took part in a game called East v West. There was a rope separating the two groups, and you had to try pull the other members of the group across the rope, when you did, they were out of the game and it was the last team standing. This was a good game as it kept us warm although the snow was a little slippy so there were some falls but nothing major. It was now time for lunch at the peak of Jegersberg, however we had to make it there first and we had to make it up this steep hill covered in ice which was like a separate challenge in itself! However, we all made it to the top with no issues and managed to get a fire going. After lunch there was one last challenge for us. We had to grab an item that was hanging from a tree branch, in my group, we quickly made a human pyramid to win the game! After this we were told we could head back whichever way we wanted as it was now time to head home. Overall it was a very enjoyable day with different games that I have now learnt that I can use when I lead a group for ice breakers!
