about me

Hei,

I am Katja from Germany.

At home I am studying „Sports for prevention and rehabilitation“ (main subject) and Psychology (minor subject) for Bachelor in Heidelberg.

As I am born and raised in a a small town near Bamberg in the north of Bavaria, I did a lot of outdoor activities in my childhood and youth e. g. canoeing, hiking, alpin skiing – even if I often only ended up climbing on a tree, going to the football ground or just playing on the street with my neighborhood. I really enjoyed it and suppose it was quite healthy for me. I feel sorry that a lot of kids can´t enjoy a childhood like this. But as I will become a sports-therapist I may can influence the chosen lifestyle of some kids and adults by showing them how much fun it is to spend time outdoors. This is one reason, why I decided to do the study exchange in Kristiansand, Norway and joined the Outdoor Education Program, called Friluftsliv.

Aside from that I like being part of an adventure and want to learn a lot of surviving outdoors. In my free time I enjoy going camping or doing roadtrips – as it is the cheapest and best way of travel anyway. I hope and suppose I can improve my survival technique by passing through the course. Furthermore I want to try almost all kind of things, which look like fun!

Certainly I also want to discover the natural country Norway and get to know the Norwegians way of life, called as our study program Friluftsliv – Why do they have a higher life expectation than other countrys even if they have long, depressive periods of darkness in some parts of the country?

Last but not least I was really looking forward meeting new people from different nationalities with similar character traits (Who else would join these kind of adventurous study program?!).

I am pleased as Punch having a nice, adventures time with interesting people in a natural country and learning a lot of (in my view) interesting stuff!
