facebook post:
hello my foreign friends!
On monday 19/1 we are going to meet outside spicheren at 9.15 and do some fun team-building excersises and stuff!!
We are going to “grønnsletta” a park not far from spicheren.
things and stuff you need to pack:
a shitload of rope, preferably without shit.
warm clothes
food (we are going to make a campfire)
something to drink, non-alcoholic beverages only.
something to place your buttocks on when we are lunching.
good mood and positivity!!
have a nice weekend and see you on monday
the trip:
the trip consists of the following team building exercises and games in smaller groups (5 – 7 people)
- realise one of your group has a broken leg and you have to get him as quick as possible from A to B (e. g. hard bleeding wound, …)
- building a stretcher out of one/two sticks, a tarp, 10 m of rope and the surrounding things
- one of the group lay in it and the others have to run with it 500 m (mainly uphill)
- blindguiding: two guiders of the group were shown the track they have to walk with the whole group, but the group is blind and can only follow by grabbing on one long stick (which everyone grabs apart from the leaders). The leaders instructed and helped the group to do the track as fast and save as possible
- building a shelter out of one stick, a tarp, 10 m of rope and the surrounding things
watch for important things like wind direction, rain, flat ground, water source, fire place (reflecting rock) how many people can sleep in it (different tarp sizes), … - making a fire just with surrounding things and 3 matches. The ones who already did it, can not use their hands at the fire place. A string 30 cm above the fire has to be burned.
- Spiderweb: get the whole group through the build spiderweb (rope between two trees) without touching it. Each hole can only used once.
Reflection
Good trip and well organised with good fun in it. You get to know your group quite quick (but it was only 6 person and just 2 norwegians). Norwegians could give some advices to Internationals as they were more experienced in most of the things.
