Hiking

We met at Spicheren to head into Jegerberg together. When we arrived in Jegers we found that there was work going on with the armed forces and that there were a lot of marked off areas where we weren’t allowed to go, this meant we had to change our plans and we couldn’t hike where we had originally planned to.
The weather was beautiful today so we set off in the direction planned and just followed the routes we could. We could get around the lake we originally planned so we tried to get around a different way. In the afternoon we found a good spot by the lake where we could sit and have a little lunch break. We ended up laying here in the sun for about 1 hour because it was so nice!
At around 4.30/5pm we had walked a lot but because the weather was so good we didn’t even notice, although it is good to stick to a planned route, we decided that there was no trouble finding somewhere to camp in Jegersberg and because it didn’t go dark until really late that we could take our time and enjoy the weather. In the evening we found somewhere close to Oygards Tjonn lake where we originally planned and set up camp. Nadine, Filippo and me set up the tent on a flat area while Jolinda wanted to sleep in her hammock beside us.
After we set up, we collected some wood to make a fire and took another little walk because it was such a nice evening. We came back to camp at around 9.30 and cooked dinner before sitting around the fire and going to sleep.
The next morning we woke up around 9.30, we all had a really good sleep! Today the three of us decided that we would spend the day in Jegersberg doing some more hiking and enjoying the good weather again but that we would go home in the evening instead of staying one more night. Although we planned to stay 2 nights, for us it was ok to go home in the evening because we were so restricted to where we could go due to the work being done. Jolinda decided to stay the other night which she planned and after our day hiking we headed back to Kristiansand.
I really enjoyed this trip because the weather and the company was perfect! I was nice to do a trip with people who are not from outdoor education and give them a little glimpse of what  we do all the time! It was nice to have a relaxed trip and knowing that we had everything planned that we were very versatile and could change the plan as much as we wanted to fit our own needs and the problems we had with the restricted areas.
