21/1 – A winter wonderland

Introduction: Jegersberg is an area placed between Gimlekollen, Søda and Justvik and it starts right behind the University of Agder in Kristiansand. In Jegersberg it is possible to use the area for biking and hiking in both on small roads, paths and in the forest. Besides that there are many opportunities to camp and overnight which is because of the Norwegian ‘Alle mands ret’. The area that we put up our tents was a small ravine with forest around, a lake right by and even a primitive toilet. It has to route from there, o

ne on 700 m. and one on 4 km.

«a small fun trip to Jegersberg»

It was Stella, Michael and me that meet up in Spicheren. We started to go through what we had brought, and we discussed what was use full and was you could have left home. After that we went outside and waxed out skis, while we were waxing we talked about what our goals was for the day and where we wanted to go skiing. We wanted to improve our technique and definitely wanted t

o get some endurance. The most important thing was to have fun and enjoy the weather. That was why we also were very open to suggestions and adaptable at the tour around Jegersberg. We wanted to go the 4 km. route around the track, because the weather was really good.

We went up the big hill sweating like crazy put on our skies and off we went. First we just talked and didn’t really focus on the technique, but more on the social and having fun. But doing the tour around we practiced our gliding technique. After a little while I felt my wrist hurting and I thought about just pushing myself and go the hole way, but in the end I didn’t want to be a ‘hero’ and a told the other that my wrist was hurting and they were very understanding. Stella admitted that her blister also was hurting and therefore changed we the plan a little bit.  That was why we cut the tour a little bit and went off the track and over the lake. It was very beautiful and the change made the tour much more optimistic and open to fun. We took some time on the lake taking pictures and videos of our awesome technique.

I think we had very good cohesion, because we waited on each other if anyone had to fix there temperature with the clothes.
