Kongsgaard Alle organized – 15th of february

Kongsgaard alle organized

We were meeting up in front of Spicheren at 9.15 and then went up to Jagersberg. The area starts right behind the University of Agder in Kristiansand. It is a bountiful forest area. There are a lot of hiking tracks that leads to different viewpoints. Besides these many hiking opportunities, there are tons of fine camping and overnight possibilities. This Monday trip took many place around the small hill right by the lake and the 4 km. Hiking path that goes around the lake.

We started out with a few viking games to get out bodies moving. It was different games that required physical and mental strength. We shifted partners every round and we laugh while getting ready for the day challenge. This Monday trip were arranged by Kongsgaard Alle, and they had split us up to two groups. We started the main part of the Monday trip with a firewood toss, and I felt the teamwork develop when one of the Norwegians started to make some fun with the Danish girl Anne from the other class. He was definitely making fun of the Danish language and I jumped in with the fun. Cheering and laughing, which I definitely knew where going to make our group work together. After the competition, we were sent off in to different directions. We were told that there were given points along the way and that the team that were back first were going to get 10 extra points. So we started out running, and when we got to the first challenge it was about balance and talking together. We kind of stood around and talked about how we were going to do it. Ideas and a small discussion started and we tried something out. In the challenge we were given 8 pieces of wood and we had to touch the wood all the time and moving from A to B, by standing/walking on them. After a while of debating and talking I took the lead, told Julian to hold my hand and I stepped out on the wood and balanced. The others handed me a piece of wood and we moved forward, communicating and team working. We got though in 10 minutes, 10 people. We went along the road and though the route there were different types of tasked that had to be solved ex.: turning a tarp with no hands, getting all up within a small area on rock wall fastest, getting through a spiderweb of robes. All the tasked different people took the lead and our group dynamic was very good. The day were good organized and I was astonished how little effort you as one person really have to put in to a group, when all the members are putting energy into the group. I felt I gave what I had through the tasks even though I wasn’t taking the lead. Important to point out that I didn’t feel any of our group members were social loafing through the taskes, all gave their best.

A good day ended in the sun in the small area with the hill at the lake. All eating lunch, talking and laughing of the days achievments, while two fires were burning.
