This Academic Blog that I am writing will be used to summarise all the different aspects of the course that I have learnt, and collate my understandings from what has been taught and demonstrated during Field Trips. It will delve into what knowledge I have gained and learnt whilst out in the Field and try to explain it in an appropriate manner.
But first, a little about myself,
My name is Marcus Edwards and I am a 20 year old Australian currently on a student exchange in Norway at the University of Agder.
I study a Bachelor of Human Movement at the University of South Australia, majoring in Physical Education and Outdoor Education with the goal of becoming a Teacher in Secondary Schools in the future. However, in the short term, I plan on gaining instructor work in a range of Outdoor activities not only in Australia but internationally.
While I’m  studying in Norway, I wish to improve my overall skills in the Outdoors, as well as discovering and learning more about Friluftsliv and other Norwegian Outdoor Theories. I then wish to take this knowledge back to Australia and apply it to my own life and the way I teach Outdoor Education.
I am a passionate Rock Climber, but also enjoy many other outdoor activities activities such as Hiking, Mountaineering, Kayaking, canoeing and sailing. I have been physically active all my life, playing Basketball for as long as I remember, and have always found enjoyment in being physically active indoors and outdoors, but being outside is where I’d rather be!
Watch this space!
