Overnight trip in Jegersberg

First “BIG” field trip

We all met at Jegersberg at 2pm near by the lake. Our task was to overnight there in tents. I was in group with Julian, Jonas and Amy. Due to bad weather forecast we had to build tents first. We chose place between trees on a little hill. We were well protected from water and a wind (actually we found out in the morning that one of the trees was broken by wind and almost smashed our tent).

After building our tents we all met at open area nearby lake. In the same moment it started to rain. Every nation was supposed to prepare one teambuilding game. So we had German, British, Danish, Icelandic, Lithuanian, American and Czech games. All the games were really nice and interesting. I’ve prepared game which is called parcel relay. There were two teams and both of them had to choose one guy who will be parcel. After that they had to carry parcel 400 meters and everybody had to participate on that. It was really challenging.

After we finished the games we had a cooking competition. Every tent group was supposed to cook as best meal as they could. Our group cooked cous cous with vegetables, tuna and chopped tomatoes. The tastiest meal was salmon with coconut cream and rice.

When the cooking competition finished some of us moved to big common tent and cooked our dinner there. After dinner we stayed there for an hour. We were talking, eating, socializing, getting know about different cultures.

We moved to our tent after that and try to go sleep. It was actually quite hard because we had a lot of to talk about. We woke up in the middle of the night. Everything was wet because of heavy rain outside and condensation inside. But we have survived till the morning, packed our tent and went home.

My experience with this overnight trip is very special. I liked the games and sleeping in tent. I also really like using storm kitchen. But what I really didn’t like was weather.  Nevertheless it is an experience and next time I’ll act better next time in similar conditions.
