Fifth Monday trip

14-03-2016

Now Me and my group (Line, Mike and Me) are organizers for upcoming fifth Monday trip with Norwegians. Day before our team prepared the plan and shared with rest of the people included in this trip. Our plan was to hike around the Jegersberg and in the end get on the top of the (Upside down boat) highest point in Kristiansand. We decided to do like this because we thought It was a little bit boring to organize something at “Green field” like always, and many International “outdoors” haven’t been there already.

On Monday we met like always near Spicheren, there we told to everybody separate wood logs, and we started our day trip. First of all we separate all people in to 2 (international-Norwegians) teams (winner of all competitions will get a prize) and 5 way leading groups. For way leading groups we organizers gave 5 maps with 5 marked different spots on it, to which those groups had to lead rest of people. First game- competition was near Spicheren. There was hanged rope between trees, which members of 2 teams had to cross and when they done this they had to answer some questions, that we prepared. Team that answered  correctly 5 times won the game. This game was like a warm up, and after this first way leading group lead all of us to the first point marked on the map. When we get at the first checkpoint, 2 teams had to do second game-”pulling out carrots”. One of the teams had to lay down on the ground, hang up with each other in the circle and try to hold as long as they can, while other team had to try take out of the circle all opposite team members in time (5 mins. Max). After 5 mins. teams had to change with roles, that team who was pulling out carrots, now had to hang up with each other, and team who was laying down now were taking out opposite team members. Winner is that Team which managed to hang up all 5mins or which had most people left hanging. We organizers thought that this game was perfect for the checkpoint place, because we were near the sand where teams could softly lay down. After this game we moved to the second marked point on the map. When we get there we played third game- 2 teams were standing in different sides of the middle line between them, and they had to catch, grab opponent teams member and try to pull them in to their side without stepping the line.

After this game we moved to third checkpoint, on the way we had fourth game- 2 teams had to run around the stick with head downs 7 times, than run some distance in front, get back and then other team members repeat the same until all of them done this. Team wins which all members done this first than other team. After while we reached entrance to hike to upside down boat and 3 check point. While we were going up and reaching fourth and fifth marked points on the map, we organizers didn’t prepare any games, because  of safety-Me and Mike before few days were at the same place and we noticed that the way is really icy and slippery.  After while of hiking on icy way we reached highest point -the rock which is similar to upside down boat, that’s why people call this place like this. We set a fire, got some lunch and enjoy the beautiful view of the city, sea and landscape. Before we left this place we gave the last fifth game, we put rope on the one branch of the tree, and other team had to make proper human pyramid and reach that rope. Team who reached rope faster won the game and all competition and the prize was block of chocolate. When they done last game and one of the teams get chocolate, we went down home, and the nice thing was that Norwegians showed us other way how to get down, with much nicer view of the city.

After this day I was feeling like we organizers did good job and our Monday trip wasn’t boring. Many group dynamic games I think increase our relationships, way leading was prepared for increase our orientation with maps, so all in all  for us organizers it was a successfully Monday trip.
