Fourth Monday trip

29-02-2016

This morning was really nice, Sun was shining, no clouds, but at the same time chilly. Today’s Monday trip with Norwegians is different from other ones that we already had, because now our international outdoor education group have to separate in to 3 groups and  prepare activities for 3 next Mondays. So like always we met near the Spicheren at 9 o’clock, shared wood for fire and moved towards Jegersberg- “Green field”. When we get at the point, there already were waiting first group (which was organizing this Monday trip) for rest of us  with plenty of games. First of all organizers give us to do some exercises and games to warm up our body and muscles. For example like Viking games- where you stand between each other with your partner and you have to push him and try to make him move, game where you need to step on your partners boot first than him or thumbs war game and many more. In my opinion, these games were good before upcoming tasks and activities, because we moved and warmed up all our body. After warm up we had to separate into 2 International-Norwegian teams and participate in some tasks, which were held in different places at Jegersberg, so we plus had and orientation practice. First game was to grab piece of wood, and with particular movement throw it as far as you can over the special line ( if you can’t manage throw further than it you fall out of the game), where piece of wood lands, other team member have to throw from there and try to reach special line. Our team won this game and after this organizers for our team told to stay and for other team to find another game somewhere in the route of Jegersberg (both teams had to do all these prepared games around Jegers, but not at the same time). Second task for our team was to carry one team member around the particular circle as fast as we can, because organizing team recorded our time and later compare with other teams time. This task we lost, because I think we weren’t rushing like we could in other words we were without motivation. After our time was recorded we went to third game- “spider web” where in particular space around the trees were rolled up ropes and we had to move through the trees without touching ropes until everyone of the team will cross the “web”( if you touch it, you have to get back to the start and do it again). In this task our team’s time was worse than opponents. When we done “Spider web” after while we find fourth game in which we all had to climb on to the one rock. In this game we were slower again. Fifth game was to stand together with all team on the tarp and only by using legs make of it some shapes like triangles or fold it without touching ground. Finally at this one we were faster than opponent team. Last game-task was “Crocodile pound” where we get some logs and our team had to put it in good way to cross particular distance only by stepping on the logs, without touching the ground (if you touch it you have to get back at the start and take one log out). This game was hardest for our team and we done it after really long time. After all games and tasks our team get back at the “Green field” where was finish line and we noticed that other team finished it first. So after all results were summed up other team won the relay/competition and get the prize – block of chocolate. Later after prizes we (both teams and organizers) like always set up the fire, had some lunch, socialized  with each other around the fire and after that separated to home.

All in all this day was very active, intensive and I was happy about organizing . Six games, in which we were increasing our groups cohesion by helping to each other and communicating to reach goals. I noticed that our team wasn’t motivated to perform tasks as fast as we could, that’s why we lost most of it. But in the end of the trip I was feeling that we starting to get really well with Norwegians.
