Daytrip 4, self organised

After we were coming back from Hovden, we heard that we needed to organise the next Monday trip with our group. When I heard it for the first time, I was a bit annoyed about it. I was hoping for a relaxed weekend and now we needed to organise something… But in the end, it was al coming together and it didn’t take that much time. As a group together it was easily to plan.

Friday 21 February we were all coming together, we told each other our ideas we had for some teambuilding. Everyone had some input, we discussed and changed the opportunity’s to the groups ability’s and after an hour or two, we had a plan for Monday!

Two from our group couldn’t make it on Monday and that’s why we asked two other classmates to help us out. And after all it was a good thing we did! We needed some stuff/equipment for the day and we fixed that on Monday, coming to school a bit earlier then the hike started.

We started the Monday with making groups through a puzzle. So, the groups were random divided, and everyone needed to speak to each other and look if the pieces were fitting. After forming the groups, we gave them a place to walk to and on their way to there, they had to do crazy 22.

Making groups

The original game is crazy 88. You get a list of 88 crazy challenges; you need to do with your group. I always enjoyed it and you are doing things together with your teammates. It is a good way to have fun with each other and to get to know each other better. Keeping an eye on the time, we needed to walk to Stitjønn, we made it a smaller list. I have made the list my own, based on previous expierences and on the course. when I finished the list I had shown them to my other group members to check if the challenges were suitable.

One of the challenges from crazy 22: collect 10 different leaves

The photos and videos were sent to me. For every challenge, you got a point and extra points for creativity. A tip we got from someone is to watch the photos and videos together, this is a good thing to do next time, if it is possible to organise it. As group leaders, we took our own way to Stitjønn and let the groups be free during their challenges.

The groups were coming one to one to the huts at Stitjønn and Melanie and Marie took them for a blindfolded teambuilding game. I wasn’t involved in that part and can’t write about it. Instead I was, together with Sarah in charge of judging the crazy 22 pictures and videos. The ones who were doing nothing, ate lunch. The winners from the crazy 22 got a price. Then we walked back and wanted to play capture the flag. But the mindset in the group wasn’t that cheerful anymore. So, we voted who still wanted to play and who not. The most people voted for going back to the university to plan our trip for tomorrow, we listened to the group and were going back to university.

After all I think the Mondaytrip was succesfull. One thing I wanna change for a next time is to be a bit more organised on the day self. Now, we were discussing things when walking to Stitjønn and we made changes in our programme, and I think we should have known our plan a little better.
