Ei munnleg forteljing av eventyret Østenfor sol og vestenfor måne

Eg var så heldig å få være i praksis hos ein herleg gjeng med tredjeklassingar som elska då eg fortalde dei munnlege eventyr. Alle elevane satt musestille då eg fortalde eventyra, til og med dei som normalt har vanskar med å følgje med i undervisninga.

Eventyret Østenfor sol og vestenfor måne var det andre eventyret eg fortalde dei munnleg. Det første eventyret var mykje kortare, men nå følte eg tida var inne til å gje dei et lengre eventyr. Dette gjorde eg for å gje meg sjølve ein litt større utfordring og sjå om eg klarte å hugse alt og i tillegg trollbinde elevane over lengre tid. Det er ei fortejing på 9 sider i boka Norske folkeeventyr samlet av Asbjørnsen og Moe, 2 bind (1995).

Eg tok i bruk teknikkar eg har lært av Fridun Tørå Karlsrud for å memorere forteljinga. Eg las eventyret for meg sjølv to gonger, deretter skreiv eg ned nokre hovedtrekk frå forteljinga. Så fann eg fem substantiv, fem verb og nokre følelsar knytt til forteljinga. Noko som hjalp meg mykje i memoreringa var at eg oppdaga at talet tre gjekk igjen i forteljinga heile tida. Eg brukte eit par kveldar på dette arbeidet og fortalde eventyret munnleg for mine to gutar på seks og ti år kvelden før eg skulle fortelje det for elevane. Det hjalp meg å finne ut kva er måtte sjå på ein siste gång før framføringa.

Eg skulle fortelje eventyret for 18 elevar og eg var tidleg på plass for å gjere i stand plassen vi skulle sitje. For å få det mest muleg intimt valde eg å la elevane sitje i ei tett gruppe nær meg. Framføringa gjekk strålande! Eg klarte å halde på elevanes merksamheit heile tida. Eg varierte stemmebruk og kroppsspråk og hadde augekontakt med dei heile tida. Eg kunne se på blikket og uttrykka at dei var fengsla av eventyret. Det tok over ein halv time å framføre det, men det var ikkje for lenge for nokon av dei.

Etter forteljinga snakka vi saman om hovedtrekka i historien og skreiv dei opp på tavla. Eg snakka også litt om kva eventyret kunne seie oss, nemleg at dersom ein bryt eit løfte kan det få alvorlege konsekvensar. Då eg spurte om dei hadde lagt merke til eit tal som gjekk igjen i eventyret, så var det mange som ramsa opp alt som skjedde tre gonger. Det var tydeleg at dei hugsa godt.

Etterarbeidet var at elevane skulle måle eit bilete med motiv frå eventyret. Fordi eg hadde valt eit långt eventyr så hadde dei mykje å velge i. Det blei mange fine måleriar av både slott, prinsessar, bjørnar og troll. Den siste dagen vi var i praksis blei arbeida stilt ut saman med anna arbeid dei hadde gjort i den tida vi var der. Dei var tydeleg stolte av å kunne halde si eiga kunstutstilling.
