Well this day we had a task to make a observation of childrens whose attending kindegarten in Bragd\u00f8ya ‘s island.
\nFirst of all some information:
\n\"\"<\/a>Bragd\u00f8ya\u00a0is an island in Kristiansand Fjord in Kristiansand\u00a0municipality in Sauthern Norway. The island is owned by the municipality of Kristiansand who bought it in 1969 with a government grant as a public open space. This with the proviso that the islands would be a recreation of the city. It has for centuries been inhabitors Bragd\u00f8ya. “Siffuord Bragd\u00f8en” is mentioned in written sources as owner from 1610 and onwards. Nowaday Bragd\u00f8ya also is a kindegarten for 2-6 years old childrens.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>So trip started at 10:00 , we took a boat because it’s an island and it’s the easiest way to go there.\u00a0This trip was different because we were without our lecture Len.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\"\"<\/a>First of all, i wanted to observe the island by doing hike, but it was not so easy because I was still after my injury so all trip i hiked with crutches and the terrain was very steap and slipery.But all in all, I really enjoy the landscape of this island.<\/p>\n

During the hike I saw a lot of interesting things in this island like a sheeps with a bells- it was kind unussual to me because these sheeps was avaible to go wherever they want. It looks that they rule the island.
\nAlso it was interesting to see the\u00a0teepees and other chelters, I think it is very good place for childrens to play hide and seek.
\n\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

My observations:<\/p>\n

-Outdoor kindergarten is based on learning by doing.<\/p>\n

-Age: children age are from 2 to 6 years old.<\/p>\n

-Area: They can explore and walk all around the island but they should be at least 2 kids. They can do whatever they want climbing up trees, boulders and even fight but they can’t fight using sticks or rocks.<\/p>\n

-Teachers: There is two teachers who try to not influence the kids and their games. But sometimes when they suspect that is too risky, they intervene and awarn them. Also teachers reading a fairytales, making a excursions around the island, singing a songs.<\/p>\n

-counting: they count each other at least ten times a day.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>-Toys: the children don’t have any fancy toys from supermarkets, the only toys what they can have it is the toys that they made by themselves or found in the island. They playing hide and seek, they palying the game that they need to go into the boat and wear lifesaving jackets. Also they have swings and other playground stuff.

An important aspect is to understand Lithuanian situation, with the school system in its present form being only 17 years old, following independence in 1991. A lot of the present education professionals had experience of the previous Soviet system so first of all they needed to reorganise all system, change thebei curriculum, and focus on children and families.<\/p>\n

Lithuanian children stay with the same teachers and group of children for up to four years. One kindergarten group has a teacher and an assistant for a maximum of 20 children.<\/p>\n

Lithuanian kindergartens use a variety of curricula: groups following, Steiner, Montessori, \u2018Step by Step\u2019 as well as some Lithuanian programmes. Kindergartens do not teach reading or writing (the same in Norway), but have a focus on personal and social development: music, drama, oral and story telling skills, physical development, and motor skills developed through a wide range of art and craft activities.<\/p>\n

Each class group had a cloakroom with seats and lockers, a large bright teaching room and a room with beds. All kindergartens have a hall, for music and physical education and extensive grounds with fixed outdoor equipment. Kindergartens have a specialist music teacher, with children having 2 lessons a week. The extended time spent on learning through play and on developing personal social and emotional skills seems to equip the children more suitably for a formal education when they leave kindergarten for primary school.
\nRegrettably children do not spend so much time outside as in Norwegian kindergartens. Lithuanian kids are going outside just then the weather is good and spent there few hours a day. But they are not going out to nature. They stay inside kindergarten fence there they have fixed playing equipment. So they can not develop thebei relationship with nature and enjoy time in it.<\/p>\n
