Olav Gunnarson Dovland (tidl. Olav Nygaard)

I was born August 1 1967 and grew up at the farm Dovland in Vegusdal, a village in Aust-Agder, Norway.
I work as professor of mathematics at University of Agder, Faculty of engineering and science.

Education and Research

Here I used a technique from oil-reservoir simulation to model and simulate radioactivily polluted ground water flow. The supervisor was professor Magne S. Espedal (1942-2010, in memoriam).
I obtained the degree Doctor Scient in pure mathematics in 2001. The subject was Geometry of Banach spaces and the title of the thesis is Approximation, Boundedness, Surjectivity. The supervisor was professor emeritus Aasvald Lima.
