Det vil blant annet skje når en som lærer setter konkrete læringsmål, stiller krav og har forventninger, gir tilbakemeldinger og kommenterer, oppmuntrer elevene og velger oppgaver og aktiviteter som kan realisere målene for undervisningen(livet i skolen 1-2).
