For at jeg skal fremstå som en profesjonell lærer er det mange områder som må dekkes. Jeg må ha god klasseledelse, gode relasjoner, variasjon i undervisningen og metoder, godt samarbeid med kollegaer – elever – foreldre, mye av det jeg har nevnt i mine tidligere blogginnlegg.
Samtidig må jeg være observant på mine egne verdier, holdninger, refleksjoner og handlinger for det kan påvirke elever og kollegaer både positivt og negativt. Med andre ord kan dette gi konsekvenser(Bergem). Som en profesjonell lærer må jeg også være observant på hvordan relasjon jeg har til forskjellige individer, om jeg har et subjekt-subjekt forhold eller et subjekt-objekt forhold. Det optimale er å ha et subjekt-subjekt forhold, som er et jeg-du forhold(Bergem).
Løgstrup(1905-1981) sier at vi må ta vare på det liv som er lagt i våre hender»(fordringen/fronesis). Som en profesjonell lærer er det viktig at jeg viser skjønn, dømmekraft og intuisjon og er sensitiv. Det viktigste er at jeg opptrer uselvisk.
«Læreren som omsorgsperson» og «læreren som forbilde» står det i dokumentet lærerrollen. Læreren som omsorgsperson mener jeg er en lærer som er genuint interessert i hver enkeltelev. Læreren som forbilde mener jeg er en lærer som er en trygg voksenperson som elevene ser opptil. Det er viktig at jeg som lærer har respekt og åpenhet om faget og lærestoffet, men også er genuint interessert og har kjærlighet for faget. Det er viktig at jeg som lærer tar elevene på alvor og møter dem på en tillitsfull og respektfull måte.

Today, I went to the beach with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said «You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.» She placed the shell to her ear and screamed.
