Provoserende undervisningsøkt

I samfunnsfag har en gode muligheter for å bruke mange ulike undervisningsformer/metoder. Før jeg kommer med et eksempel på en slik metode vil jeg poengtere at jeg legger opp til at klassen jeg skal bruke som eksempel har vært gjennom litt forarbeid og med det kjenner til tema godt fra før. Jeg ser også for meg at det er en tiende klasse dette eksempelet kommer til å ta utgangspunkt i.

På tiende trinn er elevene blitt såpass voksne at jeg i et fag som samfunnsfag derfor vil prøve å provosere elevene for å få de skikkelig med. For å provosere vil jeg komme med utsagn som er satt litt på spissen, helst i tema de virkelig kan ha sterke meninger om.

For elever på tiende trinn er forholdet til rus begynt å bli såpass nært at de gjerne har sterke meninger om det. Helt konkret ville jeg satt elevene i grupper, hvor hver gruppe får utdelt et ark med diverse påstander. For eksempel: «Det er bedre å røyke hasj enn å drikke alkohol». «Det er bedre at foreldre kjøper alkohol til barna sine enn om de skaffer det selv». «Det er mye bedre å snuse enn å røyke». Elevene skal så diskutere og å få ned på papir hvorfor/hvorfor ikke og svarene skal leses opp høyt i klassen fra hver enkelt gruppe for hver påstand og helst er noen svar ulike slik at vi kan få en diskusjon/dialog mellom elevene. Lærer kommer til å fungere som veileder og moderator under samtalene. Det kan komme mye useriøst dersom en ikke har snakket med elevene og gjort godt nok forarbeid.

Slike undervisningsøkter hvor elevene blir litt provosert kan gjøres på mange ulike vis, men jeg tror at felles for alle er at en finner tema som er virkelighetsnært for elevene og som de engasjerer seg for og har klare meninger om.
