first camping!

This is my first outdoor camping class, and I went out to take a class with a tent and dry wood and food.

The camping site is a mountain behind the school, where all the outdoor students participated.

Before the class began, we had to prepare a team building game on behalf of each country. But on behalf of Korea alone, I designed the game with Stepan Who from Switzerland.

As soon as I first arrived, I searched for a place to build a tent and tried to build a tent.
The group members were me, Stephen, Marie, Luke, and we found the best place. When I first built a tent, with the help of Stepan, I went out of a nail on the ground, connected a rope to a tree, made a roof, and flattened the ground.
We were really excited to choose the best place and build a tent. But there was a problem. The problem was that we didn’t check the tent equipment properly. I didn’t check, so the frame didn’t fit in the tent.
We tried to install with Len’s help, but the equipment didn’t fit, so we had to go back to the warehouse and bring another tent. What I learned here was that I realized that I had to inspect the equipment before setting up the tent.

Then each of us came together to play a game on behalf of our own country. For the first time, we divided teams and used one finger to move things, of course, it seemed really easy at first, but it wasn’t. It was really difficult and when all the students shouted, it started to become aggregative. I found this view so funny and amazing. So this is the team building game. I participated in doing it.

Also, the most memorable game was Cops and Robbers. In Korea, we played this game when we were young. It was also a game that I really liked and we divided into two teams, police and thieves, and played games. It was one of the most memorable games!

The next game was a group jump rope game where you have to hold hands and cross your eyes. It was also very impressive to be hatched for the team building.

After that, we divided ourselves into vegetarian and Meat eaters and started cooking and I cooked chicken with Malte, Stefan, and Malane, where I am most confident, I enjoyed the food and ate it deliciously with my team members! Another thing I felt here was that I had to prepare the ingredients such as salt and pepper properly.

After that, we gathered together to do a campfire, make food, and hug each other to share warmth.

After that, when it rained a lot, we went into our tents and slept.

Everything I felt from this camping trip was just camping, so I’m not going because I’m excited. It’s just Equipment. Materials. I realized that I had to check the food and the weather. Waterproof clothes in case it rains. Extra shoes. I didn’t pack my socks. If these things were perfect, they could have been more perfect camping, and I think that’s why I learned more.

second class with Norwegian students

The order was not in order. This time, I will write about my class with Norwegian students.

Secondly, we practiced building shelters or camps.

The weather was not good for rain and activity, but we went to class without being affected by the weather because we were outdoor students.

I was really interested because I never made this in Korea! Each team had a plan and a match.

I had no plans, so I followed the Norwegian students in the beginning.
Everyone participated in the event with excitement, and I also worked hard to dig the ground with shovels, tie strings to trees, and so on.

They looked on the Internet, found out which is the better way, gave information, and were doing their best in their own ways. Then we made a roof out of a tarp and laid another tarp on the ground so that things wouldn’t get dirty. After that, I cleaned my surroundings more neatly to win the championship.
Then we decided that the whole group would gather to get feedback from people and give feedback on the shelter of each group. In the first round, we received feedback that the roof was weakened and that we would not be able to withstand the rain or typhoon. So we secured again and created the best refuge! And also, watching other groups’ works, I pondered more deeply about how it would be better to secure them.

As a result, we have created the best roof and a shelter that is not bad compared to other students. I and Stefan were so happy.
Because even though we didn’t win the competition, we were really satisfied with the shelter that we did our best.

Through this activity, I learned how to create shelter in an emergency, and how to use tents and tarp. This activity made me more of an outdoor education student. I’m really satisfied with this activity!
