Day 4

06.02.2020 Day 4

Because of the poor snowconditions we had to go to another skiing place so we went to bortelid. Because this is a Downhill skiing area we had to climb quite steep and Long slopes. Therefore we had to walk up in Zickzacking and i needed to learn to trust my skies and how to place the skies Right to not slip too much. the terain was just amazing! we went a lot more up and off track. The view was so nice and the clowds and the vibe really tentoned but really nice to look at. When we arrived at a top, where Sindra and Tim thought the snowconditions look quite good, the half of our Group got the tsak to build a lounch for the lunch break and the other half (with me) had to build a snowhole to Sleep. It was really hard to fig into that Kind of snow but also a really good practice how to build one and to understand how much work and what Kind of technique you can use.

After our lunch break, Sindra showed us how to rappel down a slope with a rope. TRhis was really interesting because he showed us that you can first of all use almost evrything as a anchor if you just digg it Deep into the snow. the most suprising Thing for me was that you could also just use the snow it self as an anchor. Therefore you have to carv a circle (or drip form) in the snow that is Maybe 20 to 30 cm Deep in that form you lay the rope and this 30cm of snow holds your hole bodywaith. really fascinating!

after we have done that, we made our way down to the car again. But that meant offpist Downhill (quite steep ). We learned how to zickzack down and had a loooot of fun. We fell so many times but in the end almost the hole Groups was happy that we took the chalange of going down all the Downhill places and that we made it down without any injuries. becausue we were again too early we decided to Train a bit of Telemark on the kidslope but because we were all quite tired we decided to end the day there.

When we arrived back at our place we had our bonfire evening. This was alot of fun because verybody prepaired some Group games from their Country and performed them. So we were dancing, sining, laughting, jocking and playing a lot till late in the night!

I reallly enjoyed the hole day with everything that we done and i leared a lot on that day with Survival skills, skiing skills and international games and dancing skills! what a Honor to be part of this program!
